My Favorite Movies

By the title, I am going to guess that you will know what this page is about.  This list is in really no particular order, it's just as I think of them.  And probably a month from now, I'll look at the list and think, "why didn't I include such and such movie? It's amazing!" or I'll think, "Why did I include this and that movie? It's so dumb...like Air Buddies." So this list is a list of my favorite movies that I can think of right now (that is 10:50 pm July 6th, 2010)

You've Got Mail - Let me just say this right now, I love Nora Ephron movies.  I really hope to meet her someday.  Anyway, the movie.  Love the story line, love Kathleen Kelly (hope to live in a Brownstone someday too!).  It's just so quotable. "People do stupid things in foreign countries." "Yes, they buy leather jackets for much more than they're worth but they don't fall in love with fascist dictators!"

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Another quotable movie that's just amazing in so many ways.  Matthew Broderick just fits Ferris like a glove.  "Bueller......Bueller.......Bueller....."

Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Carribean, Chronicles of Narnia, Star Wars - What's not to love about action/adventure sagas?

One Night with the King - Not only is it a great story, it's just beautiful to watch.  Makes me wish I lived in Ancient Persia...but then I remember things like flushable toilets and air conditioning and I don't wish it so much anymore.

The Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, Footloose, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Sound of Music, State Fair, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - Musicals.  Need I say more?

Any Pixar movie - I LOVE Pixar!! I am convinced that John Lasseter is the new Walt Disney.  Everything he touches turns to movie gold!  They have re-captured the magic of animation that Disney company somehow lost along the way.  But if I had to pick a favorite Pixar film, I would say Up.  Skip Edward Cullen, I want a guy like Carl Frederickson.

I'll think of some more films later.  I'll probably think of so many that I'll have to make separate pages for each genre. Not that that's a bad thing.

EDIT: Can't believe I didn't think of this one before! Pride and Prejudice - It's like the ultimate chick-flick.  I'm finally reading the book and so far it's been just as good, if not better, than the movie.
